My eye caught a dark form lying on the river bottom. It took me a few moments to comprehend what I had stumbled upon. Lying peacefully in the shallow waters of the river, only a few meters from shore, was a full-grown cougar. The contrast between the serenity of the scene I was witnessing and what must have played out here in the cougar’s final moments made me shiver. It was the first shiver of many, as I stripped down and waded out into the icy water to get this shot. x

No, we won’t. We won’t do any of these things, because even if the West fertilizer plant disaster is ultimately understood as something more than “just an accident,” it will still be taken as the presumed cost of living in a modern, industrialized economy.

fuck this shit. every time i start thinking i’ve moved on, accepted the fact that that chapter of my life is over, shit like this has to happen. i go out, have fun, immerse myself in music, sports and academics. i may even be interested in someone. but then, at the most random of times, all of that shit disappears and i see myself all alone. why? b/c you were, literally, the only person i could really talk to. and now, the night before what is without a doubt going to be one hell of a long ass weekend, i find myself not able to fall asleep b/c past memories keep running through the mind. and i know this all makes me sound like an angsty teen but you know what, fuck it. i don’t even know what i’m doing anymore. i can’t even bring myself to paddle… for now. maybe this is all part of the process. maybe not. i’ve just got way too much shit to deal with right now and this is not helping it at all. so fuck it.

and why the FUCK is it so goddamn hot here at 3am?!!
